Hi- My name is Serenity and I am glad you are here. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have over 10 years of professional counseling experience, most recently at a local nonprofit counseling center working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Previously, I worked in victim services with individuals who had survived instances of abuse, violence, or homicide. This greatly strengthened my appreciation of the resilience that individuals have and the importance of normalizing how trauma can impact the brain, physical health, emotional health, and relationships. I earned my graduate degree from Messiah College, with a focus on marriage and family therapy. In my free time, I enjoy the great outdoors, gardening, and reading.
“In my early professional years, I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” ― Carl R. Rogers
